Issue date 8.5.2020
Palma, London
DeDays Space (DDS) has been started on the 1st of May as a pre-seed venture incubator, located in Palma de Mallorca.
The strong team behind DDS will create 1000 new jobs until the end of 2021, through the following measures to make the Balearic Islands even more attractive for international ventures, investors and digital nomads alike:
Creating support structures for local education by supporting Universities, Colleges and Schools with digital training programs, international collaboration and access to scholarship funding.
Introducing shared and flexible office space with sufficient distance for individuals and companies, who want to work hard and play hard in one of the hottest locations in Europe.
Bringing entrepreneurs and investors together.
Telling the World and especially digital high growth companies how many fantastic opportunities there are in the Balearic Islands to relocate for example an innovation hub, or a think tank.
Education – Space – Entrepreneurship – Funding – Corporates
As one of its initiatives, DDS has formed a strategic alliance with the leading association of the builders of the digital age the “Infrastructure Masons” (IM) to jointly work on these topics above. DDS and IM will explore together how solar power, available space and skilled labour can form a nucleus to establish green computing and data centre on the islands to supplement the existing job options and create more independence from tourism.
Natascha Sacher, COO of the DeDays Group is convinced that “The timing is perfect for our initiative right now. The current situation has brought our dependency on tourism to everyone’s attention and this initiative in collaboration with the great team behind IM is one of several that we as DDS are currently focussed on to support our beloved home.”
The Executive Director for IM in EMEA, Simon Allen adds “DDS is a perfect partner for us, as we aim to build an inclusive, green and highly capable industry which is diversified both in locations, as well as in skills and service offerings. The Balearic Islands are a region that has been on our radar for quite some time and we are looking forward to becoming a part of the solution for the greater picture.”
